Growing up in Massachusetts, Matt is everything Boston. But he upgraded significantly by marrying an Oregon girl, Hillary. The day Matt and Hillary moved to Bend, they ended up at a Compass cookout. This was the point when Matt realized that he didn't know the "real" Jesus. He soon made the decision to put his life in Jesus' hands, pick up his cross and follow Him. A few years later, Matt left his teaching job to become Compass' Youth Pastor... and remained there for 7 years before returning to Mountain View High School to teach math. Matt and Hillary have returned to Bend after spending a year in the Portland-area as an assistant principal. They have two children--Awbrey and Avery.

Kelley and his wife Kathy are excited to be back at Compass. They have lived in Bend for over 20 years and have three grown kids and six grand-kids. Kelley brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Compass as a former Lead Pastor and Youth Pastor. His love for people and God's Word, along with his "front porch style of teaching" is a great combination. On a quiet summer day you might find him on a lake with his fly rod inviting fish to join him.

Sarah grew up in Southern Oregon and has always been big into sports, music, and Jesus! She has a huge collection of board games and yard games, and may be a TINY bit competitive as she takes her competition down (but, always tries to play nicely). Sarah likes to have fun and laugh, but also enjoys going deep in meaningful conversations with good friends. She loves hiking, biking, snow skiing, and most other outdoor activities. Sarah began leading worship as a high school student and feels blessed and excited to be able to serve in this role at Compass. Her desire is for the church to understand the fun and freedom that can come through praise and worship, and that God uses it to move mightily in our lives! May the joy of the Lord be your strength, oh yeah!

Dave grew up in Southern California. Dave found the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) while playing football in high school. He became a leader in FCA while in High school and continued throughout college. Dave met his wife Aleesha while at Cal State Fullerton. They got married and moved to Bend but left after the "snowpacolypse" of 2018. A few years later a Carpenter job brought Dave and Aleesha back to Central Oregon. They Google "Churches that Love Jesus in Bend" and found Compass and haven’t left since. Dave become our youth pastor in February of 2023, and is excited to be growing into the calling God has for him!

Lexi was born in Las Vegas and grew up there and in Colorado, before attending the University of Wyoming after High School. Lexi came to Compass as an intern in 2017 because of her love for building into the lives of students. There is talk that her and Truett go way back, maybe that's why she understands Arkansas?? She did such a phenomenal job, we crashed her car, threw away her suitcase, and told her that God obviously didn't want her to leave. And she was rewarded! Yeah! She met her husband, Brendan, and is glad to make Bend and Compass her permanent home.
